My experience with Dr Ugwumadu was absolutely outstanding! I am so glad to have found him, and I shall forever be grateful for his care. From the first appointment and throughout the treatment process- I was met with empathy & understanding. He was extremely knowledgeable, considerate, and patient. He answered all my questions, provided clear direction and put me at ease during my treatment. I had previously seen several specialists, taken multiple tests and medication, all of which failed to deal with the persistent issue. It was only Dr Ugwumadu who was able to identify the reason why previous treatments and medication had failed. He dealt with me and my case as an individual, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, and that really mattered, considering the complexity of my condition. And, to note- it’s been several months since I completed my treatment and I’m all clear- the first time in over a year :))))) Gail was also such a joy to liaise with, and was always so supportive and uplifting- I miss our conversations now my treatment is complete.

I'd struggled for over 10 years with a vaginal issue. It had been misdiagnosed as thrush, cystitis, DIV, CV and other things with no resolution. I'd been taking medication for each of them to nil effect. I'd been to the NHS twice, private healthcare with another specialist, had a microbiome scan done and also consulted with experts in the US. After many years of struggling in pain, I finally found Dr Ugwumadu. He seemed to know so much more about what he was talking about - he asked incisive questions to try to understand what was going on. He took time to do a number of tests which came back negative. When a previous specialist saw this they just ignored the negative tests and said it was probably still thrush. Dr Ugwumadu took the results seriously and realised that negative results meant it was something else. He was able to recognise that what I was struggling with was skin related. It was transformational for me and made a lot of sense. He recommended a treatment plan and I've felt better than I have in years. He's also just a lovely person and takes the time to explain things to you, often things which are quite complicated. He also says he treats the whole person rather than just the issue which felt definitely true to me. I originally saw him through the NHS but given the long waiting lists I chose to see him privately after that and I'm so glad I did. I couldn't sing his praises more - he was truly amazing. All I can say what a wonderful man! I had seen so many gynaecologists and they had not solved my problem! And when I came to see Austin he new straight away what it was! And now have my life back again. Highly recommend he really takes his time to listen to you not rushed like many drs highly recommend him.

The most informative doctor! Wish I went sooner

Dr Ugwumadu gave me clear explanations every step of the way and was very patient when I had multiple questions to ask (many doctors are not!). Because of Dr Ugwumadu I am now free of the bacterial issue (which I thought was candida) that plagued me since my teens.

I had been struggling with issues with soreness, discharge, itching, pain after urinating etc for approx. 4 months before I discovered Austin existed! I live up North so he wasn't one of my local doctors but discovered I could have telephone consultations and slides via the post. I had nothing to lose after I'd tried 2 other private gynaes, who told me numerous incorrect things and prescribed me numerous drugs that made my condition worse, including HRT and antidepressants! I thought I was losing my marbles by the time I spoke to Austin. Austin reassured me and made me feel normal. He asked me lots of questions, listened to me and answered my questions. I had a feeling he already knew what my issue was before I even sent the slides off. I then sent my slides off and spoke to him shortly after he received them. He examined my slides under a microscope (which I think is pretty much unheard of in the gynae world!) instead of sending them to the lab like the rest of the swabs I'd had done... We had a follow up and he diagnosed me straight away, put me at ease and gave me a treatment plan. I have stopped using my probiotics that I've used for years and I've seen a good improvement already. Said if I had any other concerns I could just email his secretary Gail (who is also amazing btw, absolutely fantastic at her job, always on the ball and very understanding!) and he would ring me back with answers. I'm due to have a review in 3 months, I'm hoping I'll be much improved by that point! Cannot thank Austin and Gail enough and cannot recommend them both enough! Thank you. x
